The Team
Chris Haugner
Chris has spent twenty-plus years in engineering leadership - Director, VP of Engineering, and CTO roles across enterprise and startup environments: converting a bespoke-per-client delivery model into an enterprise SaaS platform at a large global business, and leading large engineering organizations at heavily regulated companies.
The language-technology work predates the LLM era: founding architect of a B2B content-automation product, with a statistical machine translation engine and an orchestration layer routing between the in-house engine and commercial translation APIs on cost and quality. The product shipped as a nine-month MVP and grew to serve thousands of websites.
Recent AI work includes the first production AI workload at a heavily regulated company - AWS Bedrock, inside the company's first AI governance framework, through risk, legal, security, and audit review - and AI architecture for an enterprise technology company building a new AI product line: embeddings, retrieval design, and reference patterns the client's engineers build against.
M&A experience runs both sides of the table: sell-side, preparing a venture-backed SaaS company for acquisition; buy-side, technical due diligence on AI-native targets - architecture, team capability, integration risk. At a PE-backed B2B SaaS: analysis of a large legacy monolith and its two-year modernization roadmap.
Delivery environments have included PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, and FedRAMP.
Jorge Abreu
Backend engineer with 10+ years in Java and Spring microservices across banking, retail, and enterprise platforms. Security remediation to OWASP standards, code-quality audit practice, and delivery from requirements through Docker and Kubernetes. Recent work includes AI-driven content orchestration and LLM integration pipelines, embeddings, retrieval, and prompt engineering in production Spring Boot services. Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, AWS Certified Architect, Oracle-certified.
Juan Torres
Senior Java engineer with 12+ years across payments, media delivery, and large-scale legacy-to-microservices migrations. Spring Boot, Kafka and ActiveMQ, OAuth2 and Keycloak, AWS EKS. Repeated technical-lead roles guiding teams through modernization at Globant, Taller Technologies, and Versett. Oracle-certified.

VenturiBase is based in Washington, DC, with engineers in Latin America - same timezone, same working day. Remote-first with clients anywhere, and on-site when the engagement calls for it.
